Astaxanthin – the king of carotenoids

Haematococcus Pluvialis algae, the ingredient of Bioastin is the source of incredibly powerful antioxidant – carotenoid pigment astaxanthin and excellent antioxidant lutein.
Astaxanthin was isolated in 1938 and finally described in 1944. Currently it’s the subject of research in various international scientific and research centers - among others the most important are based in the USA, Japan, Norway and Sweden.
Astaxanthin is compared to beta-carotene, however its structure and antioxidant functions are significantly different.
It’s 10 times more powerful than beta-carotene and over 500 times than vit.E. Crossing “blood-brain barrier” means that its antioxidant capacity affects brain and central nervous system.
Astaxanthin, xanthophyl pigment of Haematococcus Pluvialis algae is responsible for the characteristic colour of salmon, shrimps as well as krill. Salmon migration is one of the most interesting phenomena in fauna and flora worldwide. Salmons accumulate astaxanthin in their muscles and it may be the reason for their excellent strength to swim up the river even hundreds and thousands of kilometers.
The main source of krill food is Haematococcus Pluvialis algae. It appears that astaxanthin from krill and astaxanthin from Bioastin will enhance the effect of omega-3 fats in “Neptune Krill Oil” (NKO).
In order to explain how astaxanthin really works more research needs to be done – however today we can safely take advantage of its unique properties. Astaxanthin’s effect is proven by a large number of positive articles published in the leading worldwide newspapers i.e. Times, Newsweek or Sports Illustrated as well as many scientific publications.
Benefits of Bioastin (astaxanthin and lutein):

• Eliminates free radicals, protects polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3) from oxidation leading to peroxides production. It lowers “bad” cholesterol LDL and increases “good” cholesterol (HDL)
• Regulates nitric oxide level which according to latest research is important for heart and circulatory system proper functioning (people suffering from arteriosclerosis have a significantly lower nitric oxide level)

• It protects the skin from dangerous UV radiation. Currently astaxanthin is an ingredient of cosmetics of new generation used for sunbathing and making the skin look healthy and tanned
• It reduces the symptoms of co-called radial tunnel syndrome i.e. inflammation of lateral condyle of humerus from which suffer people who often overload the wrist (e.g. athletes or those working at the computer for a few hours). Lutein and astaxanthin are beneficial for eyes, they protect the lens and guard against macular degeneration (especially the erderly)
• Bioastin acts synergistically with algae Spirulina Pacifica and Krill Oil

Contents: One capsule (500 mg) contains:

• safflower oil 440 mg (bulking agent)
• Haematococcus Pluvialis algae extract 50 mg (source of astaxanthin and lutein) incl.:  

o    astaxanthin 4 mg
o    lutein 40 mcg

• vitamins:  

o    A (beta – carotene) 82 mcg
o    E (D-alfa- tocopherol) 10 mg

Directions: 1-2 capsules a day with a meal
